Writing Center Tutor Mahnoor Zahid '24
Mahnoor is a neuroscience researcher-in-the-making who is involved in ITAP, Honor Scholars and Science Research Fellows. She became a Writing Tutor to help students from all backgrounds overcome their writing difficulties. If she can’t be found at a lab, you’ll find her at the gym or the desserts section at Hoover.

Abigail Fathauer is a junior English Literature major with minors in World Literature and Art History. When she's not in the Learning Commons, she is editing for The ºìµÆÇøÉ«ÇéƬ or catching up on her ever-growing TBR pile!
Writing Center Tutor Vanessa Torres '25
Vanessa Torres is a Mexican-American woman from Indianapolis aspiring to be a journalist and novelist. Outside of class, she dances for La Fuerza Latina and is the Public Relations Chair for the Committee of Latinx Concerns where she actively works to bring various Latinx cultures to the forefront.

Senior Taylor Fleming is a Communication major from Charleston, Illinois. Outside of the W Center, Taylor is the News Director at WGRE and sings in Festival Choir. She loves cats, Star Wars movies, and helping students write a great conclusion!
Writing Center Tutor Zaheen Rashed '24
Zaheen Rashed is a Global Health and Neuroscience double-major on the pre-med track. She is from Indianapolis and is the oldest daughter of Bangladeshi immigrants. When she's not in The Learning Commons, you'll probably find her petting the campus cats, despite being very allergic to them.

Nina Thompson is an English major from St. Paul, Minnesota. She often works with literary and media analysis in the Writing Center but is always eager to learn about new topics from student essays. When she is not tutoring, Nina enjoys birdwatching, baking, and daydreaming about lakes.

An avid Eminem fan, senior Andrea Avrand is a Biochemistry major from Santa Clarita, California. History and political science are some of her specialties in the W Center. She loves helping students craft thesis statements and getting to learn about students’ writing insights and interests.
